A small studio on SE Division
Mara Ellis opened Sabi in 2019 with one idea: a calm room, a small class and a teacher who knows your name.

How Sabi started
Mara taught in other people’s studios for eight years. She loved the teaching and didn’t love the mirrors, the loud music or the classes of forty.
In 2019 she found a former print shop on SE Division with tall windows and old wooden floors. That became the Linen Room. The Heat Room followed a year later, for students who wanted to sweat.
Today nine teachers run 52 classes a week for about 1,100 members. One in three had never done yoga before their first class here.
